Mission 2 - ACCOMPLISHED

The results are in. Our second Agent Green event was a resounding success. We succeeded in creating the inertia that will allow the Central Co-op's Madison Market to improve its energy efficiency, reduce its operating costs, and dramatically decrease their carbon footprint.

What I learned this summer: New Rules of Marketing

Marketing used to be about getting as many people as possible to see your logo and hear your message. Today, it is about creating a powerful contagious idea. An idea that is so intriguing that people want to share it with one another. The new goal of marketing is to seed that idea in the right places and at the right times.

Agent Green

During the past few months Gabriel and I, with the guidance of our board of directors, have been working on a new program to create change in our region. After weeks of preparation we are ready to launch, but to make the program successful we need your help...

The easiest way to get involved is to join the Agent Green Facebook Page and/or follow Agent Green on Twitter. We also need your help identifying the right restaurants and bars to participate in the program. If you have a suggestion post it on the Agent Green Facebook Page or email nur@seattlegreendrinks.org

Put your imagination back to work...

Do you remember when we you were six years old how a mundane trip to the grocery store could become an amazing journey into another world? Everything around you including the car ride and the people at the store were all part of one great big adventure. One of my favorite things to do was sneak off and make a castle out of the paper towels and toilet paper packages.

Back then our actions were not subject to preconceived ideas or concepts. We lived in a world that had unlimited potential and opportunity. What we didn’t know we simple filled in with our imaginations.

There is also a frequently updated green job board. The content on the website is categorized by six subject areas: family living, food and drink, health and wellness, beauty and fashion, home and garden, environment and society.

Small Actions Lead to Big Changes

Several years ago I read a book called the Art of Happiness. The book was a collaboration between the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler (a western psychologist). The whole book was based upon discussions between the two men. At one point in the book Cutler asks the Dalai Lama, "Is there something that you do everyday to help humanity?" With a twinkle in his eye, the author writes, the Dalai Lama said, "Ah yes, there is something, I turn out the light when I leave the room." In that simple act there is a profound truth. I truly believe that the simplest acts can cause the greatest changes.
