Please join the Seattle LEED User Group for a presentation on the Seattle 2030 District, an interdisciplinary public-private collaborative working to create a groundbreaking high-performance building district in downtown Seattle. With the Architecture 2030 Challenge for Planning providing the performance goals, the District seeks to develop realistic, measurable, and innovative strategies to assist district property owners, managers, and tenants in meeting aggressive goals that reduce environmental impacts of facility construction and operations.
Over hundreds of millions of years, nature has evolved elegant and
creative solutions to many design problems. We’ll explore how using
biomimicry (mimicking nature) and biophilic design (increasing
our exposure to nature within our built environment) can help us to
create products, buildings, and communities whose relationships
to nature are positive and robust.
The Sustainable Building Advisor class is a 9-month certification program for professionals of all kinds in fields related to designing, constructing and operating buildings.
As cities and regions evolve their strategies for meeting and managing our changing energy demands, those changes will significantly impact design of buildings and communities. What will architects and engineers, owners and contractors need to know today to move us toward a better energy future?
The all-day continuing education forum will delve into key frameworks for change and innovation and their impacts on the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Energy leaders will discuss the future of this exciting confluence of technology and design.
