Over hundreds of millions of years, nature has evolved elegant and
creative solutions to many design problems. We’ll explore how using
biomimicry (mimicking nature) and biophilic design (increasing
our exposure to nature within our built environment) can help us to
create products, buildings, and communities whose relationships
to nature are positive and robust.

The Coalition of Organic Landscape Professionals (COOL) and Seattle Tilth are proud to present the NW Premiere of the documentary film, 'A Chemical Reaction'.
Much of the film’s story focuses on Dr. June Irwin, a dermatologist who spurred the first town in Canada to ban lawn and garden chemicals pesticides in 1991. This action set off a chain of high-profile court cases that culminated in the Canadian Supreme Court in 2001, where the town won in a landmark 9-0 decision.
This two-day event will bring together policy makers, agency,
private and nonprofit professionals, K-12 educators, academic
researchers and students, individuals and others to showcase new
research, current science and effective programs to eliminate children's
harmful environmental exposures.
POSTERS INVITED
Forum will include posters covering topics of regional interest related
to children's environmental health (science, policy or practice).
Deadline for poster abstract submittal is September 4th.
