This holiday season, Seattleites will go a little greener at the Eco-Chic Holiday Expo where they’ll experience the most festive and eco-friendly ways to green the home, hearth and heart this holiday. With a day of product demonstrations, interactive seminars, spa treatments, shopper savings and more, guests are sure to find a reason to celebrate in sustainable style.
Sustainable Ballard hosts 10 work parties in and around Ballard. Meet up at Ballard Commons Park to check in to a work party, listen to great speakers, and enjoy family fun. Then disperse to the neighborhood for one of our 10 work parties for the afternoon. Return in the early evening to celebrate our work for the day!

On October 7th - 9th, 2010, the Outdoors for All Foundation, Mountainfilm on Tour & Eddie Bauer First Ascent are teaming up to bring award winning films AND climbing legends Ed Viesturs, Jim Whittaker and his son Leif Whittaker to the Magnuson Park Community Theater in Seattle (7:00pm). Saturday night will feature the film Bag It with special guest speaker and local artist Chris Jordan. Indulge in some pulse pounding, thought provoking and captivating films while also getting to hear the very dynamic presentations by these climbing icons and a local creative artist.
It's time again for Second Use's Annual Salvage Art & Design Contests, a celebration of all that is great about salvage and reuse - the search, inspiration, and unexpected result. The event features:
• live music from several local bands
• free food – grilled on site by staff
• horse rides around the salvage ‘estate’
• games for the whole family, designed around salvaged materials
• a store –wide sale – 10% off all day!
