Every year, the environmental community identifies legislative priorities and rallies grassroots support around them during Washington State’s legislative session. In 2008, the Environmental Priorities Coalition successfully passed all four environmental priorities. It was accomplished through dedicated citizens who are passionate about the environment.
In 2009, over 500 citizen advocates descended upon the capitol.

This year’s race for King County Executive is heating up fast. Five candidates are running to replace Ron Sims, who was appointed by President Obama as Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. The King County Executive is an important position that has considerable impact on Washington’s environment. The next Executive will have an impact on issues such as Puget Sound restoration, transportation, land use, and much more.
