We're up: Seattle Weekly's 2010 Best of the Web awards!
Premiere. A film about Princess Angeline, the daughter of Chief Seattle, by Sandy & Yasu Osawa followed by a discuss with the filmmakers. The daughter of Chief Seattle, seen on many postcards, lived alone toward the end of her life--refusing to leave her homeland. What historical events led up to her being one of the few Duwamish left in the City of Seattle by the 1890's, only 35 years after the peace treaties? The fim explores the unrecognized tribal status of the Duwamish primarily through the life of Princess Angeline. Donation $10. Complementary tickets available to members of Duwamish Tribe. Free parking, doors open at 6. Famiy friendly event.
