Agent Green, Mission 4: Greenwood!

Event Date:
Friday, February 12, 2010 - 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Event Location:
Greenwood - SIX different businesses!
85th & Greenwood
United States

Spread the word, bring your friends, and join Agent Green to make a positive impact on our community, have a great time, and meet wonderful people!

We need you to eat, drink, and have fun. Agent Green is an organized mob that helps local businesses live their values. Our next mission is to enable a few businesses (we'll announce these soon!) in Greenwood to become more efficient - and in the process, more earth-friendly.

On 12 February 2010, a percentage of all sales at the following businesses will be dedicated to energy and water efficiency retrofits:

Mae's Phinney Ridge Café
Avanti Art & Design
Greenwood Sip and Ship
Steven Cole Salon and Spa
TerraBella Flowers

We will be joining the Greenwood Art Walk from 6:00-10:00pm, and there will be food and drink specials, live music, and more, with the central party at Gainsbourg Lounge. Our purchasing power, combined with the Seattle City Light and Seattle Public Utilities’ cash rebates for energy efficient upgrades, will create the capital and inertia needed to aid the businesses in drastically reducing their energy use.

Please tell your friends, pass the word; the more people who come out and party the bigger the impact we can have!

This event is being produced in conjunction with the Sustainability Committee of the Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce and features the Chamber's new Green Smart Sustainable Business Program. The Green Smart Sustainable Business Program, powered by the Chamber's Sustainability Committee, helps small businesses in the Greenwood-Phinney neighborhood reduce their carbon footprint and improve their overall sustainability.

The goals of the program, which is supported by a grant from the City of Seattle’s Office of Economic Development, are to:
• Assist businesses perform a carbon footprint analysis and lower operating costs through increased energy efficiency and waste reduction strategies
• Connect businesses with available City of Seattle resources such as rebates and funding and with local, green contractors to perform retrofits
• Provide marketing for participating businesses
• Provide workshops and educational materials on small business sustainability
