60 degrees of music with you in the center: Join Thornton Creek Kids Guitar Circle when they perform as the opening act for Tuning the Air

(Seattle, WA) - June 10, 2010 please join the Thornton Creek Kids Guitar Circle when they perform as the opening act for Tuning the Air, a 9 piece guitar ensemble where the audience sits in the center and is surrounded by the musicians.

Admission: FREE

The Thornton Creek Kid's Circle is a group of elementary aged children who have been working with Tuning the Air Producers Jaxie Binder and Curt Golden on the art and fun of creating music in a guitar circle.

Tuning the Air is a unique performance project of Seattle Circle, playing in a live ‘surround sound’ configuration with musicians encircling the audience. Rather than touring in pursuit of an audience, Seattle Circle is bringing the concept of the location based performance team to Seattle.

“I can’t decide what is more impressive about this group — their astonishing collective precision or the seating arrangement of eight guitarists surrounding the audience. It’s like being inside a giant zither; strums, chords, and melodies not only sail over your head, but tilt and rotate around you.”
-The Stranger

“Within the opening moments, it’s clear that the group has turned traditional guitar performance on its head.”
- Seattle Magazine

“A unique live experience that transports you to a place where music is the geography.”
