April Greendrinks: Seattle For Japan Benefit!

Thanks to everyone who attended and gave at the Seattle For Japan Benefit!

We raised over $2000 that evening, which is now being put to great use in Japan by Mercy Corps. Mercy Corps has been transitioning from relief work to recovery, which includes addressing post-trauma effects in Japanese children, as well as initiating economic recovery programs (including things like mobile shops and vouchers used at local businesses). What: A benefit Mercy Corps as they play a key role in emergency relief and long term reconstruction efforts in Japan.

Donation: We are suggesting a $20 donation at the door, with all proceeds going directly to Mercy Corps. We welcome greater contributions!

Where: the South Lake Union Discovery Center, at 101 Westlake Ave. N.

Seattle Greendrinks, Global Washington, and other partners have joined together to co-host "Seattle for Japan" in recognition of the urgent need for support. We are holding an event, rather than just encouraging direct donations, to provide an opportunity for the Seattle community to gather and learn about the disaster and lessons that can be applied to Seattle.
