If you want to get better at making things better, you are not alone. The 2011 Guiding Lights Weekend conference on Great Citizenship is about making things better together. Train to be a 21st century citizen-leader through powerful hands-on workshops: How to speak about race. How to lobby. How to create a mass civic event. How to make a decision in public. How to use art to mobilize a community. Be a part of this one-of-a-kind gathering.

What are you interested in? Spend time with Dan Savage of the It Gets Better project, Maya Enista of Mobilize.org, Bill Gates Sr., Courtney E. Martin of Feministing, Thomas Goldstein of the Washington Bus, Julie Keefe & the Hello Neighbor project, KUOW's Steve Scher, poet Mimi Allin, Starbucks senior exec Vivek Varma, Judge Mary Yu, Deepak Bhargava of the Center for Community Change, nightlife entrepreneur Dave Meinert, and dozens of other world-class leaders and teachers.

Speakers include Bill McKibben, Van Jones, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan via Skype, and Justice Sandra Day O'Connor via tape. Sixty-one Luminaries and counting!
