What is at the core of your personal engagement with, and passion for, sustainability in your life and business practices? Though it may be hard to name or identify your unique source of inspiration, it often comes from universally held human values we don’t commonly explore. This luncheon gathers a broad range of expert perspectives from diverse faith backgrounds to discuss this powerful intersection of sustainability and spirituality.

Our panel will touch on sustainability-forwarding steps such as:

- Advocacy for social and environmental justice.

- Local actions

- Whole life awareness

- Collaboration/partnerships

Panel members are:

Janice Tufte- Muslim community catalyst and advocate. Janice is an active volunteer in groups such as NW Universal Design steering commitee, the Committee to End Homelessness in King County, and organizations committed to promoting interfaith cooperation.

Rev. Carol Jensen- St. John United Lutheran. The members and leadership of Saint John United Lutheran Church keep ecological concerns before the congregation through its worship, education, outreach and advocacy.

Jim Hoggan- Jim has a longstanding passion for social justice; he also serves as chair of the David Suzuki Foundation-Canada’s most influential environmental organization—and as a Trustee of the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education. He is the former chair of The Climate Project Canada.

LeeAnne Beres- Executive Director, Earth Ministry. LeeAnne has nearly 20 years experience in the Seattle environmental community. She leads Earth Ministry whose mission is "to inspire and mobilize the Christian community to play a leadership role in building a just and sustainable future."

Tanya Barnett- Associate Director, United Methodist Foundation of the Northwest. Tanya helps lead whole life stewardship for the conference and is much involved creation care. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to serve as a channel for God’s abundance.
