Bottled-Water-Free Mt. Rainier National Park: Campaign Kick-off
We're calling on Mt. Rainier National Park to go bottled-water-free to protect the environment and send the message that water is a human right, not a commodity to be bought and sold. Join us at Seattle's campaign launch to learn more about the issue, find out about exciting upcoming events, and get to know each another.
Bottled water corporations are trying to change the way people think about water. Water is a human right and common resource, not a commodity. By retailing and promoting bottled water in our national parks, the bottled water industry is attempting to paint its eco-unfriendly product green.
Our national parks were never meant to serve as billboards and concession stands for the bottled water industry. It sends the wrong message about our national commitment to water, our most essential shared and public resource, for National Parks to sell and promote bottled water.
At least 14 parks are already bottled-water-free. With such momentum behind us, we can support the entire National Park system going bottled-water-free! But we need your help. We need to show that the people of Seattle care about Mt. Rainier and urge the park to Think Outside the Bottle and commit to going bottled-water-free.
