March Greendrinks: Engineers Without Borders at Makerhaus
We'll be trying something new at this Greendrinks to help you know who's in the room and who you might want to talk with: flash intros! At 5:45pm, we'll have people line up for the chance to introduce themselves to the room for exactly 20 seconds with the microphone (limit 10 people). We'll repeat this again around 6:45. We recommend you include your name, your work/passion, and what subjects you'd like to talk to people about or what kinds of people you're looking to meet. "I'm Frankus Pinkleton, and I'm a green builder. My side project is working on a bike sharing program, and I'd love to talk to anyone who has experience with this from other cities..." PLUS we are delighted to announce that we will have Snoqualmie ice cream for you tonight!
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is a non-profit organisation, established in 2000, to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership focuses on implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training responsible engineering professionals and students. Drop your business card at checkin to win two tickets to their May 20th banquet at Seattle U!
Here's a huge shout-out, too, to our 2013 sponsors, The Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, Snoqualmie Ice Cream, Tonnemaker Family Orchard, HonestTea, The Essential Baking Company, and Chaco Canyon Cafe!
Please help us reduce waste - even compostable waste - by bringing your own mugs, wine glasses, and the like. Compostable cups will be available for a $5 suggested donation.
Finally, please email info (at) seattlegreendrinks (dot) org for sponsorship information or to volunteer or just to say hi. We also have a Facebook group.
