Utility Solutions

The Utility Solutions business unit boasts a rock-solid track record of delivering reduced energy consumption on behalf of our utility clients. This business has grown rapidly the last few years and has an extensive network of trusted trade allies, retail partners, manufacturers, and measurement and verification partners. This team leverages those relationships to deliver the energy savings or peak power solutions our clients most desire.

As our utility clients gear up their energy efficiency and distributed generation programs, the opportunities are plentiful for making a big impact while we continue to grow Ecos. Our Utility Solutions Team has an immediate need for an Account Manager based out of our Seattle office. In this role, you will report to our Program Manager of Multi-Family Utility Solutions and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our continued success.

Role Description

In this role you will assist in the managing of a retrofit program through a major utility company, creating energy efficiency improvements in multi-family facilities. You will proactively and strategically build relationships with building owners, property managers, and trade contractors, through whom you will facilitate the program. Along with promoting the program to these partners, you will provide technical training, support, and customer feedback to meet the current demands and to further develop the program. Anticipating and delivering upon our client’s needs is vital to this role. These projects are complex with numerous tasks, aggressive timelines, and include various subcontractors and partnerships.

You will prepare regular client status reports, and reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of participating in these programs. You will communicate to the clients through the Program Manager and attend regular weekly meetings. Acting as a representative, and providing amenities and accommodations at sponsored events will also be a frequent responsibility in this role.

In this position you will be given the latitude to rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and to create and improve upon processes. You will work with internal teams to maintain maximum client satisfaction and develop long lasting relationships to continue and expand program implementation. This may involve mentoring, task managing, or performing related work to meet team objectives.

Role Competencies

As our ideal candidate you have a minimum of 3 years of construction or building science and 5 years of customer relationship management and/or sales experience. You are familiar with energy efficiency program management, including the concepts, practices, and procedures required. Effective communication in both small and large groups is an area of strength, and you thrive on building relationships. Experience preparing reports and working within a budget is required. Building or home inspection experience is preferred, and the physical ability to perform inspections, which include climbing into attics and crawl spaces is a must.

As part of our management team, you will be self-directed and able to anticipate challenges within cross-functional, complex structures. Your successful experience developing and implementing processes along with your organizational skills and strong attention to detail enhance your ability to measure and continuously improve quality across all programs. You are proficient with MS Office Suite applications.
