Cascadia Consulting Group Seattle
United States

Cascadia Consulting Group is a consulting firm that develops and implements innovative solutions to today’s environmental challenges. For 23 years, Cascadia has worked with corporate, nonprofit, and public-sector clients to advance sustainability through recycling and materials management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, stormwater pollution prevention, and natural resources planning. The Cascadia team brings both expertise and creative thinking to research and analysis, strategic planning, outreach, program design, implementation, and evaluation. With offices in Seattle and Oakland, Cascadia serves clients across the country and abroad.

Cascadia aspires to be a multi-cultural organization and seeks to hire individuals who contribute to our cultural fluency. We value employees who are aware of their own cultural lens, understand the impact it has on their interactions and their work, and can effectively connect across culture and difference, with a particular sensibility around race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and physical ability. Additionally, we hire individuals who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment, who can think creatively and communicate effectively, and who will work hard to get the job done well. Consulting is about taking initiative, problem-solving, and serving clients, so we seek staff with those skills.

Cascadia Consulting Group seeks candidates who can be called upon to help with project work on a part-time, intermittent basis. The type of work can vary. Examples of work activities are as follows:

 Conducting door-to-door interviews with businesses or residents
 Providing information to the public about upcoming programs
 Providing recycling and composting support to businesses and residents
 Interviewing targeted groups to collect data for specific research
 Presenting technical information in layperson’s terms
 Conducting telephone surveys and business outreach phone calls
 Conducting characterization studies by sorting waste and/or recycling materials
 Writing reports and entering data

Demand for on-call, intermittent work can vary over time. The work may require flexible hours, may have designated hours including weekends and evenings, and can include short but intensive periods of work. Successful candidates will be invited to attend an introductory orientation on March 4th to get an idea of the on-call work activities. Compensation will be based on an hourly rate and is competitive with jobs in the environmental sector. Joining Cascadia’s on-call roster does not guarantee that candidates will receive a specific number of work hours, nor does it commit them to working on projects that don’t fit their schedules or skill sets.

On-call employees may have opportunities to become permanent full-time or part-time employees.
