We seek a qualified individual to be responsible for developing, managing and implementing media and special project efforts for NWF’s Rocky Mountain Natural Resource Center and national public lands campaigns, with close coordination with partners in SFRED. As part of this work, the position is expected to maintain and deepen the Boulder office’s relationship with print and online reporters, outdoor writers and radio and television producers in the West, coalition partners and NWF affiliates. The position will be part of NWF’s national communications team, will spend part of his/her time working on national public lands policy issues and will participate in national communications meetings and calls.
Qualified individuals must have a B.S. or B.A. in communications, English, journalism, political science or law and a minimum of five years experience in conducting media campaigns or public relations work, preferably for a non-profit. Additionally, qualified individuals must be familiar with conservation issues related to public lands, gas and oil development, and hunters and anglers. A working knowledge of Windows environment is required and experience and/or aptitude to learn Raiser’s Edge is a must.
