Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To serve as a teacher to impact knowledge of the youth.
Completes face to face assessments for residents pre and post crisis.
Provide general leadership through role modeling for both the staff and the residents.
Works harmoniously and positively with other staff and residents to develop and implement individual and group goals and content.
Maintains and implements the Re-Ed/MST philosophies.
Provide individual therapy that encompasses the ability to comfort ad listen as needed.
Provides family therapy through evaluations that focus on interpretations of family rules and roles, parent figures and ability to recognize and confront problematic family interventions.
Interviews youth to obtain information concerning psychiatric history or other pertinent information to develop youth psycho social and in-take documentation.
Coordinates with Counselor appropriate therapeutic action on an individual basis regarding visits home, parental visits with the youth as needed.
Communicates all critical events to the Supervisor and program staff.
Formulates assessments and treatment conceptualization that reflects Youth Villages' philosophies.
Maintains required records in a timely fashion for assigned youth and family units.
Provide quality case management and customer relationships that reflect Youth Villages Mission and values.
Participates in in-service training.
Completes thorough risk assessment and communicates this to all staff.
Documents individual and group therapy as necessary.
Provides support in development and evaluation of daily milieu to meet treatment needs of youth and group.
Assist in the implementation and concretize the clinical plans to the Teacher Counselor for the residents.
Completes quality assurance data and assessments on weekly basis.
Assesses and plans strategies with residential and clinical staff from assessment data.
Respond to crisis on the courtyards and assists manager on duty when necessary.
Flexibility to change roles and think quickly in a crisis situation.
Master's Degree in the social service field with state licensure or certification.
One year experience in hospital or residential setting preferred.
Previous experience being on call during non-work hours preferred.
