Internship Description
Re-Vision Labs seeks a grant writing intern to begin September 2009. Duties may include:
• Brainstorming with RVL Partners and clients to design and create the scope, budget, and timeline of each project.
• Researching potential grant funding opportunities, and continuing to develop our grant database.
• Project managing each grant application – coordinating partners, fellows, and clients to deliver writing sections and budgets on time and within specific grant specifications.
• Writing, editing, and budgeting as needed.
• Additional work could include industry research and development, and creating topical white papers about grant writing.
The Perks of Working with Us:
• Access to key community organizers and business innovators in Seattle.
• Taking part in an innovative, transparent, and rapidly growing start-up company from nearly the ground up.
• Developing the highly marketable skill of grant writing, working with a seasoned grant writer with 15+ years experience.
• Flexible schedule with opportunity for some remote work. Hours TBD dependent on requirements from your institution and/or current employment. Ideally, this would be a full-time commitment.
• Working in a collaborative community work environment, where multifaceted experience and world-changing dreams are championed.
• Possible growth within Re-Vision Labs as our business expands.
Candidate Requirements
• We are happy to train the right person on grant writing specifically, but general writing experience is essential.
• Well versed in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Intellectual curiosity and an ability to work well with others.
• Interest in sustainable, community-based business strategies.
• Flexibility: we are an early-stage company with fast-changing demands that require adaptive responses.
• Additional: grant writing and budgeting knowledge is a big plus!
Internship Management
As an intern at Re-Vision Labs, you will be assigned an internship manager to support your internship and assist with key questions and concerns. We recognize the value that internships provide to our organization, and want to be as supportive as possible to you in your educational and career endeavors.
About Re-Vision Labs
We design and implement comprehensive online and offline community-building strategies for world-changing projects, products, and services. Our work results in engaged, productive, and powerfully collaborative communities.
We empower organizations with lasting community-based solutions, partnering together to create a better world. We couple strategic design with real-world experience in political-style community organizing, storytelling, and appropriate use of social media to create and engage mission-driven communities.
Community building happens across many sectors of society. For a business, it may be connecting a community of buyers for authentic dialog, shorter product cycles and brand evangelism. For a non-profit, donors may be enabled to see the human impact of their generosity or to find unexpected opportunities to volunteer. For government, it could be streamlining people’s participation in important decisions that affect their lives, or allowing people to collaborate with one another to help solve tough problems. In education, universal access to learning, increased collaboration and competitive learning can be transformational.
In every case, the goal is loyal customers/stakeholders, thriving organizations, engaged members, and passionate activists. We are problem solvers who recognize that by collaborating with ambitious organizations and individuals, and by building engaged communities, no problem is too big.
