Human Resources and Database Administrator

Hours: 40 hours per week
Supervisor: Director of Development
Status: Non-Exempt

Job Description:
Human Resources and Database Administrator will be responsible for both administrative and donor related tasks within the organization. In regards to administration, they will maintain office files and records, update policy manuals, assist with the creation of written materials, and provide a consistent professional, and hospitable presence. The Administrator will also work within eTapestry, the organization’s donor database, to ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent processing of donor gifts and acknowledgements while assisting overall fundraising and other administrative tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Coordinate interviews and orientations for new hires, oversee terminations, administer
employee benefits and maintain accurate employee files;
• Ensure policy manuals are up to date, reflecting current state and federal regulations;
• Maintain office files and agency information;
• Assist with preparation of basic written materials;
• Ensure data integrity through consistent, accurate, and timely processing;
• Process all donations and generate receipts and acknowledgement letters;
• Serve as contact for general contributions;
• Oversee the printing and mailing of appeal letters;
• Input and receipt all ACH debits and credit card gifts;
• Compile stories and send out eNewsletter correspondence;
• Assist in accounting and receipting for major fundraisers;
• Contribute to special event planning according to present need; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Passion for and/or experience working with the homeless population;
• Must be willing to sign New Horizons’ statement of faith found at www.nhmin.org;
• One (1) year eTapestry or other donor database management experience required;
• Detail oriented with solid and accurate data entry skills;
• Self-motivated learner, comfortable, and committed to leveraging available training
resources to enhance skills;
• Demonstrated ability to perform the position responsibilities (focus on accurate database
management, confidential data management);
• Degree in related field preferred (experience in lieu of education accepted);
• Team oriented with good interpersonal skills;
• Self-starter with strong time management abilities;
• Experience working with social media a plus;
• Experience planning and carrying out fundraising events a plus; and
• Expertise with Microsoft Office required – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
