Sustainable Path Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 charitable public foundation, works toward the creation of a world that is healthy and sustainable. We are a Group Philanthropy that envisions a sustainable future based on scientific understanding and systems thinking. We have an active, volunteer Board of Directors. Our staff includes one full-time person (this position) and a part-time Director of Development and Partner Engagement.
We are seeking a flexible, motivated self-starter, who will thrive in and steward Sustainable Path Foundation’s collaborative culture, to:
• Implement the strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
• Provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the organization.

Reports to: Board of Directors
Salary: A competitive compensation and benefits package for this full-time position will be offered based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Position’s Responsibilities:
Internal operations
• Support and facilitate the Board of Directors in its work
• Ensure effective communication among the Board, Partners, and volunteers
• Manage Sustainable Path’s day-to-day activities
• Support and supervise staff in accordance with authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
• Ensure that the website, newsletter and databases are kept up to date and accurate
• Recommend a yearly budget for Board approval and manage the organization’s finances within the approved budget and in accordance with current laws and regulations
• Support and collaborate with volunteers to run Sustainable Path’s program activities, including events and the grantmaking process
• Recruit, engage and steward volunteers (including board members) in a way that ensures that organization’s workflow is smooth and sustainable, and that its program activities are successfully accomplished
External relations
• Ensure the organization, its mission, and its programs are strategically, consistently, and positively presented to relevant stakeholders
• Build relationships that ensure engagement of Partners and volunteers
• Manage inquiries from and contacts with people interested in Sustainable Path Foundation
• Communicate with collaborating organizations and grantees, and manage general public relations
• Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of programs, events, and branded materials
• Supervise fund development activities
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will embrace Sustainable Path Foundation’s mission, be a self-starter and have the ability to manage operations and programs while giving direction and leadership to a volunteer organization that is poised for its next stage of development. We seek an individual who will thrive in and promote Sustainable Path Foundation’s collaborative culture.
Specific qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nonprofit management will be a plus.
• Five or more years experience in the nonprofit or philanthropic sectors, or equivalent. Management experience required. Experience relevant to Sustainable Path’s mission will be a plus.
• Experience supporting an active volunteer Board of Directors
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective at building collaborative relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to handle multiple priorities at one time
• Proficient with e-mail and web-based communication tools, MS Office applications and use of databases. Knowledge of QuickBooks and GiftWorks software will be a plus
