Multimedia Design Intern

Overview:
The World Resources Institute (WRI) is seeking an intern to assist with research and web design for an interactive media project on land tenure and property rights in Central Africa. The position requires someone who is graphically and technically savvy and has an interest in international development and the environment. The ideal candidate for this position is one with expertise in graphic design tools and research. This is a part-time, temporary internship and may fill research requirements for some university programs.

The Equity, Poverty and the Environment (EPE) initiative works with governments, civil society organizations, development assistance agencies and other actors to develop extractive resource revenue management and distribution policies that create economic, political and other incentives in support of poverty reduction, a priority national policy objective in most developing countries. EPE is primarily engaged in several countries in Central and East Africa, including Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. Responsibilities:
Gather information on a wide range of issues related to land tenure and property rights

• Assist in the graphic development of web-based visuals

• Provide general project support as needed

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in graphic design, visual arts and/or multimedia communication

• Knowledge of Adobe suite, Dreamweaver and Flash preferred

• Excellent research and time management skills

• Interest in social media and online multi-media communication platforms

• Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, and work under tight deadlines
