Neil Kelly Company, a family-owned residential remodeling business, has an immediate opening for a PV Installer in its Seattle operations. The lead installer works with others in Neil Kelly's Home Performance Division on residential retrofits related to energy efficiency and solar. In this position, the Lead installer will direct the installation team, coordinating with onsite electricians, communicate job status data to the Project Manager, and ensure the completion of installation of all solar arrays/systems. A clear understanding of NEC and local building codes as they relate to PV installation is required and a NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification is preferred. It is the responsibility of every Installer to ensure safe work practices for the whole installation team. General construction work requires climbing ladders, stairs and work on rooftops and working conditions can be extreme; hot sun, and cold rain or in crawl spaces of the home.

The successful candidate will have 1 year of solar installation experience, 1-3 years roof work, basic residential construction knowledge or carpentry experience and good interpersonal and teamwork skills, and be customer service and quality work oriented. Proficiency in installing all types of grid-tied inverters and ability to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems is a must. Excellent time management and organizational skills required. Must speak, read, and understand English and be competent in basic construction math. Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs is a strong plus. The employee must provide their vehicle and their own tools. Neil Kelly is a drug-free workplace. The PV Installer is responsible for directing the installation team, coordinating with onsite electricians, communicating job status data to the project manager and ensuring the completion of the installation of all solar arrays/systems. The PV Installer reports directly to the Home Performance Project Manager who reports to the General Manger of the Home Performance Division.

This is a fulltime position aimed to be 40 hours per week, but with work hours varying with project volume. Work hours are typically 7:30 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. This is an hourly waged position with a weekly payday. This position is eligible for the regular Neil Kelly benefits package.
