Commute Seattle is a non-profit commuter service organization working to reduce drive-alone commute trips in an effort to improve access to and mobility through downtown Seattle. An alliance of the Downtown Seattle Association, King County Metro and the City of Seattle, Commute Seattle helps commuters find an alternatives to driving alone by providing downtown commuters, employers and property managers with information about a variety of commute options in one convenient location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for creating and satisfying demand for transportation demand management (TDM) strategies with property owners and employers, as it relates to reducing single occupancy vehicle commuter trips. This position will emphasize parking strategies as a way for property owners and employers to reduce cost, green business practices, and improve tenant amenities and employee benefits.
This position will work with a variety of organizational partners to develop and implement communication, marketing and channel strategies to educate and generate interest in an array of transportation solutions that provide a return on investment for the business and reduce demand for commuter parking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop and implement effective relationship, partnership, and/or channel strategies to drive marketing and referral goals as it relates to alternative transportation products and services to downtown property owners and businesses
•Develop and drive effective business-value messaging to prospects as it relates to optimizing parking revenue and reducing parking costs.
•Utilize the consultative sales process, parking audits, and ROI business case to recommend the appropriate transit solution to the prospective business. Solutions include but are not limited to telework, car sharing, ORCA pass subsidies, pre-tax accounts, commuter parking cash-outs, ridesharing, bicycle commuter amenities, etc.
•Plan and execute educational/information seminars, brown bag presentations, one-to-one meeting, and small group presentation to socialize transportation demand management strategies, product solutions, and policy change incentives
•Plan and implement effective lead generation strategies for developing qualified business prospects for seminars, product referrals and incentives.
•Meet monthly, quarterly and annual product and referral targets as established with Program Manager
•Utilize and develop written, verbal and personal presentation methods to support effective product value and messaging of the high cost of parking to property managers
•Work collaboratively with partner organizations that include the Downtown Seattle Association, King County Metro and the City of Seattle. Represent partner products, service and policies accurately and professionally.
•Manage position budget, client database, and fulfill all administrative functions associated with the position including monthly and quarterly reporting
•Provide timely and friendly customer service to commuters, employers and property managers seeking information about transportation options through phone calls and emails and newsletter publication
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Professional, polished, confident and creative
•Demonstrated interest in the field of alternative transportation; previous experience implementing transportation demand management (TDM) strategies preferred
•Previous experience working in a property management environment preferred
•Bachelors degree required
•2 years sales or marketing experience (consultative preferred) using effective ROI methodology required
•Demonstrated ability to develop and give effective presentations to small or large groups
•Demonstrated success meeting monthly, quarterly and annual targets
•Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong sense of responsibility.
•Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations to large groups.
•Strong organizational skills, and the ability and willingness to handle multiple projects, demands and moving targets are a must.
•Knowledge of Word and MS Outlook required. Excel and Access experience desired.
POSITION FUNDING:
This position is currently funded through a service contract which expires on December 31, 2011.
COMPENSATION:
Annual salary 40,000+, plus full medical, dental, vision benefits, paid time off, short and long term disability, 401K retirement plan and annual ORCA Pass.
