WORK SCHEDULE: This is a short-tem temporary position. This position works up to 40 hours per week, Hours vary depending on event schedules, most hours occurring evenings and weekends, 4:00pm to 11:00pm, Tuesday – Sunday.
WORK LOCATION: Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Give direction and instructions to volunteers and County maintenance employees performing recycling duties. Assist County Volunteer Coordinator with volunteer scheduling and coordination. Record volunteer hours and maintain volunteer attendance records. Tally and record volume of recycled materials following each event. Operate County vehicles such as ATV, pick-up truck or van. Maintain inventory of recycling program supplies and equipment. Answer routine inquiries from the public. Perform related duties as required. The Crew Leader will perform the physical activities of the task along with the crew and be responsible for various administrative duties.

Recycling Crew Tasks include:
Assist event-goers with sorting trash into recyclable, compostable and garbage, at designated stations.
Pick up litter, separating recyclables in process. De-contaminating bins by removing non- recyclable or non-compostable items. Assist with recycle station set-up and tear-down at each event.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting; must be able to perform moderate lifting and manual labor, operate light trucks and 15 passenger van.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work inside and outside in all weather.

QUALIFICATIONS: Age 18 or older. Graduation from high school or GED. Group leadership experience. Basic math skills with ability to Calculate weight, decimals and percentages. Able to operate a variety of office machines and personal computer. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and the public,

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver's license is required to operate King County vehicles; operators of King County vehicles must be 18 years or older. An offer of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a background check, which includes criminal and driving histories. Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Selected candidates must provide their own outerwear and footwear appropriate for the weather. King County employees work in an alcohol and drug free environment. King County Parks Employees are not permitted to carry weapons on Park property.
