Wildlife Corridors Public Forum: Learn about the latest efforts to provide safe passage for wildlife on our landscape on both a local and regional scale with guided discussions from leaders in the field. Get information on the Western Governors’ Association Wildlife Corridors Initiative, national to Washington state level efforts to ensure wildlife connectivity, and hear the latest on a project close to home - the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project that is constructing wildlife crossing structures to make the roadway safer for people and wildlife.

Speakers will include:

Welcome from The Wilderness Society, Northwest office and local policy makers

Gary Tabor - Center for Large Landscape Conservation – on climate change, wildlife corridors and ecological resiliency

Jason Kibbey - Freedom to Roam – on the outdoor industry’s Freedom to Roam campaign to protect wildlife corridors

Trish White - Defenders of Wildlife – on policies needed at the local, state and federal level to protect wildlife corridors as well as the Western Governors’ Association Initiative on wildlife corridors and crucial habitat

Jen Watkins and Charlie Raines – Conservation Northwest, I-90 Wildlife Bridges, WSDOT - on the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project and the bigger landscape-scale picture in Washington State.
