User Interface Designer

3TIER, a private provider of real-time forecast and assessment products for the renewable energy industry, invites applications for a full-time User Interface Designer for its Seattle office. We seek a highly motivated individual with excellent design skills and an outstanding portfolio of interactive projects to join our research and development team. A demonstrated user-centric approach to design is essential. The candidate must be highly motivated, responsible, and have the ability to take multiple projects from inception to completion with limited supervision. The position will require occasional travel to conferences and clients.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create UI concepts and solutions that support 3TIER's web-based customer applications
  • Design interactive navigation, controls and icons
  • Create wire frames, mockups, and interactive prototypes
  • Work with the Marketing/Corporate Branding team to create a consistent look, feel and function across all 3TIER applications
  • Client interaction: present and demonstrate solutions to customers and management and incorporate feedback in revised solutions.
  • Management of deadlines to meet project goals.
  • Contribute to the 3TIER culture of communication, collaboration and inspiration

    Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. or advanced degree in Human Factors, Graphic Design, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in creating user interface designs
  • Proficient with HTML / CSS / Javascript; solid grasp of AJAX techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines in a rapid growth environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate your design and advocate best practice solutions
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Experience, or demonstrated passion for the Renewable Energy Industry preferred.
